Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degrees from Michigan State University where she studied journalism and psychology while minoring in Spanish and law, justice, and public policy. She eventually went on to attend George Washington University where she received a graduate certificate in paralegal studies and American University where she pursued a master’s degree in International Relations with a focus in Conflict Analysis and Negotiation. She is an active member of a women’s group focused on conflict analysis and gender studies and she volunteers her time to various projects for active-duty military members and their families.
Her legal career began in a fast-paced litigation position focused on business law where she worked closely with clients to ensure their needs were met during every step of the litigation process, from intake to settlement.
In her free time, Emily enjoys the beach and a good book.
