Samantha received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College in May 2017. While at James Madison, Samantha majored in Social Relations & Policy with a minor in economics and a concentration in real estate investment management. Samantha is a proud Spartan alumni and continues to support the “green and white” and the unviersity’s vast achievements.
While at Michigan State, Samantha co-founded, and was a colonizing member, of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Beta Theta chapter. She was hand chosen by Alpha Xi Delta national headquarter officials to be one of the women to recolonize the chapter out of over 500 applicants. Samantha served as a liason between the chapter and their national philanthropic partner, Autism Speaks, to raise money and bring awareness to Autism spectrum disorder. She began her legal career as an intern at the 54-B District Court in East Lansing for two years. While there, she acquired experience working with the probation department, Veterans Treatment Court, Drug Court, and clerked for the Honorable Andrea Andrews Larkin, Chief Judge.
Currently, Samantha is a third-year law student working towards her JD at The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and will graduate in May of 2021. During her time at Detroit Mercy, Samantha helped found the school’s Environmental Law Society and is an active advocate for the school’s LGBTQ student organization, OutLaws. As a Detroit resident, Samantha enjoys spending time in the city and has taken full advantage of her time here by immersing herself in its culture and history.
During her time in law school, Samantha interned at the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office, clerked for estate planning and litigation firms, and now works in the business, real estate and cannabis field. Samantha is eager to be in this novel legal field with Scott Roberts Law and hopes to continue expanding her knowledge in the niche area. With the rapid expansion of legalized cannabis throughout the state and nation, Samantha intends on making this her area of expertise once she gains her license through the State Bar of Michigan. She is passionate and believes in the positive direction that the cannabis field is taking and is excited to see what the future holds for the industry.
In addition to her experience in the legal field, Samantha became a realtor in 2014 at the age of 19 and has listed and sold properties throughout the State of Michigan. As the daughter of two real estate entrepreneurs, her work in real estate came naturally. Seeing passion for real estate first hand, she was excited to join the field and more importantly, the family brokerage. She credits her mother and late father for her passion, drive, and success within the industry and motivation to move into a larger market. Samantha has worked with clients buying and selling in residential, agricultural, and commercial spaces. Her knowledge and experience in negotiating contracts and executing sales agreements gives her a competitive edge in the legal field and with the Firm’s cannabis clients.
