Mr. Roberts is the founder and managing member of Scott F. Roberts Law, PLC, a Detroit-based business law firm. Mr. Roberts has spent his entire career representing businesses and helping them comply with municipal, local and state regulations.
Upon being admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2010, Mr. Roberts went to work as a corporate and healthcare attorney for the Detroit-based law firm of Dickinson Wright. In 2014, he left the firm to start his own business practice, Scott F. Roberts Law, PLC. After passage of the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act, or MMFLA, Mr. Roberts expanded his practice area to include Marijuana Business Law. Mr. Roberts is a member of the Business Law and Marijuana Law sections of the State Bar. Prior to being admitted to the Michigan Bar, Mr. Roberts attended the University of Miami School of Law, graduating in 2010 with high honors.
Mohamed Ghaith was born and raised in Dearborn, MI. Mohamed graduated from Wayne State University – Law School in May of 2018. While in Law School, Mohamed achieved academic excellence, being awarded the Bronze Key Award two years in row.
His legal education includes internships with the Maurice and Jane Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice and the Arab Civil Rights League. Mohamed gained a deep respect for the law through these internships and they helped him see how the law can be used to protect and empower all people. His work focuses primarily on labor, employment and civil rights.
Matt Colville graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 with a degree in Philosophy. He graduated from George Mason University School of Law in 2014.
He is an experienced litigator with a background in No Fault Insurance Defense, Commercial Business Litigation, and Intellectual Property Law. Matt is a tenacious litigator who excels at pursuing novel legal theories. He has successful trial experience in Oakland County Business Court and Macomb County Circuit Court. Matt brings a client-centric approach to litigation. He enjoys his work because it is an opportunity to be of service to those in need.
When he is not at work, Matt is an avid golfer, reader, and race fan. He attends the Indianapolis 500 every year as part of a family tradition.
Elijah Simkins was born and raised in Dearborn Michigan. Elijah received his bachelor’s degree in 2016 from Eastern Michigan University where he was a D1 track and field athlete and graduated Cum Laude. He then went on to Wayne State University Law School where he received his Juris Doctor in 2019.
He spent his legal education focusing on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, business planning and real estate law. While in law school, Elijah served as the president of Wayne State’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society for two years. Shortly after graduating law school, he designed and built his own cannabis business website outlining the paths to starting a business entity in Michigan as well as walking through the Michigan marijuana licensing process.
Nickolas G. Calkins is a warrior for his clients. Nick serves as head of the litigation arm at Scott Roberts Law and has already cemented his position as a tenacious cannabis litigator with recent victories in the Michigan Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Scott Roberts Law, Nick served as in-house counsel for a cannabis based real estate development firm, and previously acted as managing partner at Covert Law Firm in Lansing, Michigan, where his practice focused exclusively on regulatory issues involving cannabis.
When Nick isn’t fighting for his clients, he serves on the Board of Directors for a non-profit CBD company devoted to assisting military veterans. He is also an avid mountain biker and paddle boarder.
Robert G. Hunsicker is our Chief Operating Officer here at Scott Robert’s Law. He has a Bachelor’s in Operations management from Oakland University with a minor in marketing and has an impressive ten + years of experience of hospitality and administration management, which he emulates here in our office, keeping things running smoothly and our clients happy. He knows every aspect of our business and our clients and when we say we have a client-centric office, he is the epitome of just that. Robert takes the time to know each and every client to help us give the best service possible.
Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degrees from Michigan State University where she studied journalism and psychology while minoring in Spanish and law, justice, and public policy. She eventually went on to attend George Washington University where she received a graduate certificate in paralegal studies and American University where she pursued a master’s degree in International Relations with a focus in Conflict Analysis and Negotiation. She is an active member of a women’s group focused on conflict analysis and gender studies and she volunteers her time to various projects for active-duty military members and their families.
Luna is the Chief Morale Officer (“CMO”) of Scott F. Roberts Law. She has held this integral position since puppyhood.
